Although Hernanes is a talented and creative player (who has represented his country), it's unlikely LFC will shell out a sizeable fee for a player of his profile.

"It's too early to talk about what Hernanes will do," Sport 360 reports Joseph Lee told TMW. "There is interest in Italy and above all the Premier League, but no written or official proposal yet.

Which makes the Liverpool link seem unlikely. The club's tranfer policy centers around buying younger players. LFC hopes to develop them over the length of their contract and sell at a profit if necessary. Hernanes, 26, is a ready-made star who will command a hefty transfer fee and salary from his next club.

Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish has a number of center midfield options at his disposal. He thinks highly of "Wee" Jay Spearing and Jonjo Shelvey. Last summer he invested £23 million ($36.4 million) in bringing Jordan Henderson and Charlie Adam to the club. Lucas should return from injury next season and partner a fully fit Steve Gerrard in that part of the field.

HernanesHernanes left Brazilian soccer for the Italian game in 2010, and soon took Serie A by storm. The Lazio star's stellar play over two seasons has launched transfer speculation. His agent claims Liverpool FC is among the clubs interested in signing him, according to Sport360.

Hernanes joined Lazio from Sao Paulo FC after before the 2010-11 season. His contributions over two seasons -- 19 goals in 64 league games -- make the £9 million ($14.2 million) transfer fee seem like a steal. If and when he wants to leave the club (and no news outlet has reported he does), Lazio will expect almost twice what it paid for the Brazilian.

"We will evaluate what to do in June. I don't know if Lazio have spoken to Italian or English clubs, such as Liverpool, but all I can say for certain is that we have not received concrete proposals."
