An Ancient Education Of Egypt On Your Cheap Holidays To Sharm El Sheikh
Sharm el Sheikh is a five star holiday destination, offering some of the best hotels around Europe and plenty to do in the surrounding area. There is a a vast desert occupying the whole area, and there are many activities on offer that make full use of the space. Even if you run out of things to do in Sharm el Sheikh, neighbouring towns and cities are nearby and many hotels offer information on how to get there. Some even have a bus service. Great Sphinx of Giza
The Sphinx is in Cairo, so you'll need to take a coach trip for the day to see it. The statue depicts a mythical creature with a lion's body and a human head which stands on the Giza Plateau on the west bank of the Nile in Giza. It is the oldest known monumental sculpture, and was believed to have been built by ancient Egyptians of the Old Kingdom. It is also significant for being the largest monolith statue in the world. It is impossible to measure the scale of this artefact without visiting it yourself.
Desert Safari
A desert safari involves lots of bumps along the way, but you will see some amazing desert wildlife as you go along. Take one of these fascinating trips to experience the history of this ancient desert. You will ride on a camel and buggy, with tours taking place at all times of the day. This means you can see the early morning dawn and take in the amazing panoramic view.
Mount Sinai
Mount Sinai is one the most famous and important religious sites in the world today and attracts visitors from around the globe. Located along the Red Sea, it is famous for being the location where Moses received the Ten Commandments. A popular activity is to retrace the footsteps Moses took as you take in the stunning desert sunrise. Nearby is St. Catherine's Monastery. It is believed that it was built around the site of Moses' Burning Bush, and takes a while to climb Big Fat Finance, with almost 500 steps to the summit!
Day Trip to Cairo
If you couldn't get enough of Cairo when you went to see the Sphinx, take a day trip and see what the rest of the city has to offer. The capital of Egypt is Africa largest city and home to some of the country most famous sights. Head to the Egyptian Museum for a historical and cultural feast. The building houses 165,000 Egyptian artefacts. The most popular artefacts in the museum are the priceless treasures of King Tutankhamen. The gold gilded coffins dominate the main hall, and of course the main attraction is the amazing Death Mask. The gold bust remains perfectly preserved, even to this day.
